Withdraw your purchase

Changed your mind? You can withdraw from your first Pax Pass subscription within 14 days, without giving a reason. No account is needed.

Withdrawal refunds your first payment in full and stops the subscription. For ordinary cancellation of future renewals, use “manage or cancel subscription” in your Pax Pass. Read the Pax Pass terms for the full details.

Who runs this space

PAX AURORA is operated by Nadia Struiwigh, Enteldijk 3C, 7244 NL Barchem, The Netherlands (KVK 55075789; VAT ID NL001132782B26). Telephone: +31 6 48180554. For privacy questions, sample permissions or requests about your information, email hi@paxaurora.nl.

Playing, loading & recording

The sound studio processes imported samples, microphone audio and your recordings in your browser. They are not automatically uploaded to PAX AURORA. Microphone access is requested only when you choose “record a sample”; you can refuse it or revoke it through your browser. The microphone is not routed to your speakers.

Audio and settings are held for the current page session. Download recordings before leaving or refreshing. Sending a sample or finished world is a separate, deliberate action on the contribution page.

Pax Pass & billing

Stripe handles secure checkout, monthly billing, receipts, payment authentication and the customer portal. Stripe receives the payment and billing information you provide there. Card details do not enter this website’s access database. See Stripe’s privacy information.

To provide your subscription, we keep random browser references, Stripe customer/subscription/checkout IDs, payment and cancellation status, paid access dates and the version of the terms accepted. A private recovery key restores access in another browser; only a hash of that key is stored. We also keep a copy of purchase-confirmation emails, including your email address, invoice reference, payment total, applicable VAT and the terms sent to you. These are delivered through our hosting email service and retained with the related accounting records for applicable legal obligations. These records are necessary to perform and support your subscription contract. Security checks, duplicate-event records and request limits support our legitimate interest in preventing abuse and incorrect charges.

The essential access cookie is Secure, HttpOnly and SameSite=Lax and expires after 90 days. It does not contain card details or audio. Clearing cookies does not cancel billing; use “manage or cancel subscription” or Stripe’s billing email sign-in. We do not use this cookie for advertising.

Unfinished checkout references are retained for up to 30 days, duplicate-event identifiers for 90 days, and subscription access/recovery records for up to one year after an ended subscription. Rate limits use a daily pseudonymous IP hash, with records eligible for deletion after 24 hours; raw IPs are not stored in the access ledger. Cleanup runs during site maintenance and use. Invoices, tax and accounting records are retained separately to meet legal obligations: basic Dutch accounting records generally for seven years, and records for supplies reported through the EU One Stop Shop (OSS) for ten years after the end of the year of supply. Statutory rules determine when each period starts. Records needed for a specific unresolved claim may be kept until that claim is resolved; this does not extend retention of unrelated data. You can contact us about access records, deletion or a lost pass.

Access is determined automatically from confirmed payments, the paid period and subscription status. Refunds, disputes or fraud signals may suspend access and stop further renewals; contact us to have a person review an access decision. This does not involve credit scoring or profiling.

Withdrawing a purchase

The withdrawal form records your name, purchase email, optional receipt reference, declaration and its date and time. We use this to honour your consumer rights, identify and refund your purchase, and send confirmations. Records are stored privately on our Hostinger server; confirmation emails are sent through our hosting email service. An essential session cookie protects the form and avoids duplicate submissions. Abuse limits use a keyed, hourly IP hash, retained for up to 24 hours. Withdrawal and refund records are retained with the related accounting records for applicable legal obligations and claims; they are not used for marketing.

Sharing a recording

If you choose to share audio, your browser can pass the selected file to the app you choose in your device’s share sheet. You control the app and recipient. The website does not upload a public copy of the recording. WhatsApp and email links open those services; attach your downloaded audio there. Those services process anything you send under their own privacy terms.

Cookies & hosting

The instrument does not set advertising or analytics cookies, and does not use browser storage to retain your audio. Fonts and starter sounds are served with this website, rather than loaded from third-party media embeds.

Hostinger provides website hosting. Technical request information such as IP addresses, request times, requested resources and browser details may appear in access and security logs. This supports our legitimate interests in delivering, securing and troubleshooting the website. Technical records are retained only as needed for those purposes, according to the hosting service’s settings and obligations. See Hostinger’s privacy information.

When you contact us or contribute

If you email us, we receive your message, email address and anything you attach. We use these to respond and manage the contribution or request, based on the steps you request or our legitimate interest in responding to correspondence. If you provide an optional public credit name, we use it with your permission when crediting accepted sounds. Your email address is not a public credit.

The donation page opens a Dropbox file request when you choose to upload. Dropbox receives the files and the name/email details requested on its upload screen, and delivers them to our PAX AURORA sample collection. The upload link does not provide access to existing files or other submissions. Dropbox processes information under its privacy policy, which explains processing locations and international-transfer safeguards.

Contributions are reviewed before event use. We keep submitted files and correspondence only as long as needed for review, communication and the agreed use. For accepted sounds, permission and credit records may be retained while the sound is used and as necessary to handle legal claims or obligations. You can ask us to remove an unused submission or change your credit.

Correspondence and file-handling services process information needed to deliver those services. Their processing locations and any international-transfer safeguards depend on the provider and are described in their privacy information. We do not sell contributor contact details or automatically add contributors to a mailing list.

Your rights

Depending on the applicable rules, you can request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your personal information, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. You can withdraw consent where we rely on it, including consent to a public credit, without affecting processing that was lawful before withdrawal. Contact hi@paxaurora.nl. You can also complain to your local data-protection authority, including the Dutch Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.

Sounds & permissions

The starter nature recordings are CC0 material. See the sound credits and reuse permissions for creators, source links and licence details. Before importing or recording your own samples, you must confirm you have the rights for your intended use. This confirmation stays in the current browser session; PAX AURORA does not receive the sample or a consent record. Importing a sample into the local instrument does not give PAX AURORA permission to use it. Contributions have their own permission wording. Only share material you own or have permission to contribute, including permission from identifiable people in a recording.
